What’s gluten-free at Six Flags New England? In this guide, you will learn gluten-free food options, and we’ll provide some tips to help you make the most of your family-friendly Six Flags experience.

Gluten-Free Food Options

Gluten-Free Meals at Six Flags

Unfortunately, Six Flags does not really provide a lot of gluten-free meal options. The majority of items that are gluten-free are snacks.

Per Josh S., Executive Chef at Six Flags, you can order the following:

  • Yamas: Chicken without a pita or on top of Greek Fries (Gyro meat has breadcrumbs in it).
  • JB’s Smokehouse: pulled pork on the ranch salad or no bun. Smoked Sirloin on salad or no bun. Waffle fries are not gluten-free.
  • Burgers and hot dogs at any location without a bun. Riverboat Cafe does not offer burgers without a bun.

Gluten-Free Snacks at Six Flags

Nachos with Cheese Sauce

Six Flags offers Tostitos gluten-free nachos and cheese sauce, which do not contain gluten-containing ingredients, but they are not officially certified gluten-free.

Fries

Fries with or without cheese sauce at any location that are cooked in a dedicated fryer. First, ask if the fries are fried in a dedicated fryer, not with breaded chicken tenders or other gluten-containing foods. Second, you should ask if they share equipment and a facility with other food that contains gluten. At Six Flags New England Johnny Rockets prepares their fries in a dedicated fryer.

I did speak with the food service manager at Baystate Fries and Wheeler’s Hot Dogs. Baystate Fries offers gluten-free fries, but you need to speak to the manager to avoid cross-contamination. The good news is that the fries are fried in a separate fryer. However, they share equipment and a facility with other food that contains gluten.

Other Gluten-Free Snacks at Six Flags

The following is a list of gluten-free snacks or sides at Six Flags:

  • Soft serve ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) without a cone
  • ICEEs at any location
  • Popcorn
  • Chips: Baked Lay’s, Smartfood, and Classic Lay’s. Here’s a list of gluten-free snacks from PepsiCo.
  • Dippin’ Dots: Chocolate, but ask them to open a new bag.
  • Candy Apple
  • Candy
  • Pickles
  • Salad at Riverboat Cafe

Guest Relations at Six Flags New England

Check with Guest Relations

I did contact Six Flags guest relations, and they provided me with a list of gluten-free options at Six Flags New England from their Executive Chef, Joshua S. I created the menu below.

Always Ask for On-Site Accommodations

As a best practice, always ask to speak with a chef or food service supervisor/manager at any dining location for guidance and recommendations before ordering food. They are happy to provide a manufacturer’s ingredient list upon request.

Check out the outside food policy

Check the Park Policies and ADA accommodations regarding bringing in outside food.

Here’s the Food Allergies policy for Six Flags New England

Guests who suffer from sensitivities or life-threatening allergies may bring food into the park if they do not feel comfortable with the menu options available. In this case, the food must be limited to the individual with the allergy and may contain: two sealable sandwich bags (7×8 inches) and one snack to accommodate their visit (such as a piece of fruit, or a fruit bar, or a snack that fits in a sandwich bag). One small soft-sided cooler may be brought into the park to carry these items. No outside beverages are permitted. Please see First Aid at Six Flags New England to receive a medical sticker.

Check reviews on Find Me Gluten Free

Another option is to check out restaurant reviews and ratings on Find Me Gluten Free. For example, Baystate Fries has 5 stars.

No gluten-free dietary options listed on the website

Bring your own food

If you are uneasy about the threat of cross contamination, and gluten-free options, then your best bet is to bring your own food.

What’s Next? Key Takeaways

The key takeaway is that there is absolutely no guarantee of no cross-contamination at Six Flags. Staff acknowledge,

It’s true that the offerings are pretty slim when it comes to gluten allergies. Eating gluten-free at Six Flags is important to a lot of Six Flags guests.”

The gluten-free community should advocate for more gluten-free options and accessible allergen information posted on the website.
